A ligament reconstruction is broadly done for an ankle or knee injuries. For injuries of the ankle, the procedure is known as the Lateral Ankle Ligament Reconstruction (ALR) and for knee injuries, it is called the Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL). ACL reconstruction surgery is done with Autographs, Allografts, or a bridge-enhanced repair system. The procedure requires at least six months of non-surgical treatment and therapy before the ligament reconstruction can be carried out on the patient, and the recovery time after the surgery is about six to twelve months.
